Thank you for your interest in The Orlando Advocate. We are Central Florida's Only Urban Lifestyle
Weekly newspaper, and for the past 20 years the only African-American paper featuring investigative reporting.
Over the years we have reported on such highly claimed stories as the buckling streets in the Richmond Heights subdivision, which led to an official investigation into utilization of government funds spent in the construction of the development.
We investigated the death of an Ethiopian immigrant in a local hotel, and determined with the help of local experts that the young woman could not have died in the manner hypothesized, meaing her death not in fact a suicide as ruled.
We investigated the mistreatment of veterans at the then-existing Veteran's Hospital, and were pleasantly surprised when the wife of one of the veterans called to tell us-- only three days after we printed-- that she had received a phone call from the White House informing her that the President wanted her to know he was looking into the matter because "this is not the way we treat our veterans."
The list of investigative reports goes on. While our market is principally African-American, the Advocate is published for the reader who wants to be informed about the political and economic issues impacting Central Florida’s African-American community. That's why people read us. And that's why they will see your ad.
Advertising in The Advocate will put you directly in touch with your market.
And it IS your market. If you're interested in a consumer group that spends upwards of $2.8 billion
each year in the local market, that is. Orlando's black community is the 7th fastest growing community in the nation-- and the 4th fastest growing in black middle- to upper-income-levels.
With a distribution of 10,000 papers, and a confirmed 3.3 adults per household, we communicate
with up to 33,000 readers each week. We are renewing our audited status, and will have audited circulation posted on our site by August of the year.
Our papers are placed in churches (the cornerstone of the black community), retail businesses, professional offices, convenience stores and conveniently located street-level newspaper
boxes.
In addition to our print circulation, we have had an on-line presence since 1997. Access us online at
www.orlandoadvocate.com, where constant is kept fresh and up-to-date. Print sponsors place banner ads on our site free of charge.
