SBA Administrator, Mayor Dyer Sign Agreement Fostering Entrepreneurship

SBA LogoORLANDO, Fla., March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration, will sign a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) with the City of OrlandoMayor Buddy Dyer on Monday, March 23, 2015. The SAM signing will take place at 1:45 PM at City Hall in the Council Chambers immediately prior to the 2:00 PM City Council Meeting .

The purpose of this SAM agreement is to foster small business development and expansion throughoutOrlando through collaborative efforts between the SBA and the City of Orlando.  “We are honored that Administrator Contreras-Sweet is supporting this historic alliance between our governments.  She shares the same vision of working together to place tools into the hands of entrepreneurs to assist them in reaching and exceeding their small business goals,” says Cassius F. Butts, Region IV Administrator, U.S. Small Business Administration.

Prior to the SAM signing, Administrator Contreras-Sweet will tour and speak at the National Entrepreneur Center; meeting with small business resource partners and highlighting Pegasus Transportation, an immigrant entrepreneur who has benefitted from utilizing the tools SBA has to offer.  Following the SAM signing, the Administrator will provide the keynote address and join a lender panel discussion during the Consumer Bankers Association’s “CBA Live 2015” Conference at the Bonnet Creek Resort.
