Justine Damond called police for help; they shot her.

News from Minnesota, where Sydney native Justine Damond, 40, was shot and killed on July 15 after calling the police to report a possible sexual assault behind her home.  Newly filed court documents suggest that police were frightened by a slap on their car, which caused them to shoot the unarmed woman.

Bizarre.

The court document says:  “Upon police arrival, a female ‘slaps’ the back of the patrol squad. After that, it is unknown to BCA agents what exactly happened, but the female became deceased in the alley.”

Was it Damond who “slapped the car? The document doesn’t say so.  Was there another woman in the alley?  The document doesn’t say.  How do police know that she “slapped” the car?  Officer Matthew Harrity, who was driving the police car, said he heard a loud sound near the patrol car.  That’s quite different from hearing something strike the car itself.

Hannity’s partner, Mohamed Noor, fired past Hannity, through the open driver’s window when Damond walked over.  Hannity, who was closest to Damond, never pulled his gun.

But if they knew what they heard was the car being struck, how did they determine that Damond was not the victim of the assault who slipped and bumped into the car in getting away from her assailant?  She apparently never got a chance to identify herself.

The shooter, Officer Noor, isn’t cooperating with authorities.  We won’t know why he shot Damond until he finishes perfecting his magic routine.  Let’s see if the magical incantation works for him, where a black officer kills a white woman, as it almost always works for white police officers who kill unarmed blacks.

“Abracadabra.  I was in fear for my life.  Let the unjustified killing disappear.
